Clay is not merely a material; it is a substance that remembers. It absorbs my emotions, touch, chance, experiences, and even trauma, becoming a symbolic extension of my inner self. The cracks, fingerprints, unexpected glaze reactions, and shifts in temperature that occur during the making process remind me that, although I try to control the outcome, complete control is ultimately impossible. Just as layers of wounds and traces accumulate to shape who I am, this work embraces its own imperfections and transformations, embodying a narrative of resilience and becoming.

도자기는 단순한 재료가 아니라 모든 것을 ‘기억하는 물질’입니다. 흙은 나의 감정, 촉감, 우연, 경험, 그리고 트라우마까지도 흡수하며 내면을 상징적으로 드러내는 매개가 됩니다. 제작 과정에서 생겨나는 균열, 손자국, 예기치 못한 유약의 결과와 온도 변화는 내가 통제하려고 애쓰면서도 결국은 모두를 통제할 수 없다는 사실을 일깨웁니다. 이러한 상처와 흔적이 차곡이 쌓여 결국 ‘나’라는 존재를 형성하듯, 이 작품 또한 불완전함과 변화의 흔적을 품으며 회복의 서사를 담아내고 있습니다.
